Open Call by Sculptor Yasmin Gur
An award-winning, renown sculptor - using weathered material, she appropriates their histories to create structures that evoke the living processes of an organism. Her work, biomorphic yet geometric abstract forms in wood, metal, and other materials, embodies sensuality, ambiguity, and ambivalence. Her public commissions include M&Ms Mars, Roberson Museum & Science Center at Binghamton, NY, and Reading Garden Outdoor Sculpture for PS166, New York, NY. Gur’s work is widely exhibited in Israel, and the United States, and recognized by the Art Sprinter Award, an international award, recognizing gifted Jewish artists. Her recent project “Longing” is on exhibit at the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art.
